Chapel staff regularly organize outings
to purchase new school clothing for children in the afterschool
programs, a service made possible through the
generosity of the Chambers Foundation.
The Chapel also distributes hygiene projects and school
supplies to the children, as well as others in need in the
community
How is the Chapel
funded?
The Chapel has a budget averaging $550,000
annually. The figure includes approximately $125,000 of
in-kind contributions. The rest of the budget is made up
almost exclusively of contributions from businesses, individuals,
and supporting church congregations. The Chapel receives
very little public funding. No fees are charged for services.
How many volunteers
work at the Chapel?
Nearly 500 volunteers work at the Chapel
each year. The work camps provide 200 workers. Chapel Kids'
Cafe is sustained by the efforts of approximately 100 cooks
and servers.
Other volunteers staff the afterschool programs,
youth evenings, and summer camps. Girls Club is assisted
by 20-25 member parents.
How many staff
are at the Chapel?
There are thirteen staff members at the Chapel, four of
which are full-time. Part-time staff include teachers, artists,
musicians, social workers and bus drivers.
